Inspired by the night sky and our connection to the stars, artists with intellectual disabilities will create textile artworks through fabric, collage, and embroidery. Guided by the Black Rock Castle Observatory educational team, they will learn about astronomy, stars and planets and how to draw with thread.
Supported by retired volunteers from Ballyphehane and Togher Arts & Crafts Initiative, each participant will create their own textile constellation. As no two stars are alike, each work is unique; showcased together they represent the diverse fabric of our universe.

COPE FOUNDATION is a non-profit organisation that aims to enhance and support the lives of people with an intellectual disability and/or autism. Members of the COPE community have been taking part in organised workshops at Greywood Arts since 2022.
FRANCES McCARTHY is the Education and Outreach Officer at MTU Blackrock Castle Observatory, a former watchtower and now an award winning observatory for budding astronomers and scientists.
